Client’s Situation:An African oil company with approximately $12 billion in revenue with multiple subsidiaries wanted to provide in-house training to approximately fifty key accounting and audit executives and managers. The Company also required assistance developing a Company-wide internal control implementation plan.
Accounting and Business Consultant’s Engagement Role:We were engaged to plan and execute a 2-day training session in Angola, Africa for key executives to understand internal control and COSO requirements. After training efforts were complete, we assisted management with development of a detailed internal control implementation plan in English and Portuguese. We also assisted management with project plan execution.
Engagement Results:We received outstanding feedback and reviews from the Company’s executives and managers regarding the training program specifically developed and tailored to the Company’s needs. The training program was delivered in English and translated to Portuguese. After the success of our training efforts, management asked us to also assist with development of a detailed internal control project implementation plan. The project plan was also developed in English and translated to Portuguese. Over the next year, we assisted management with internal control project plan implementation efforts including the research and acquisition of an internal controls software solution.
